Locals obstructed the provincial government during the secret vaccination of the industrialists of Biratnagar at the City Cinema at Tinpaini Chowk in Biratnagar for the second dose of Covishield provided by the Ministry of Social Development. Police escorted the health workers and industrialists to their respective destinations after the locals picketed the City cinema on May 28.

Morang Superintendent of Police Santosh Khadka said that the police were informed about the vaccination only after the people started gathering and protesting. Kedar Karki, of the Nepali Congress-Province 1 alleged that the state government has vaccinated only the Oli faction of the CPN-UML.
