Nagarik Dainik journalists stage sit-in demanding salaries in Kathmandu

The journalists affiliated with the Nagarik Dainik published by Nepal Republic Media stage a sit-in in front of the office since office hours on July 28 after not being paid for their work for three years. Among the protesting journalists are Giriraj Banskota, president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Panchthar, and Tanka Chhetri, president of the Sarlahi branch.

According to the protestors, before the sit-in, they had submitted a memorandum warning that if all the salaries are not paid by July 26, they will organize a sit-in and padlock the office. All the protesting journalists were working as stringers. They have not been promoted for a long time.
