Democratic Professors Association padlocked Midwest University Service Commission on July 1, demanding to stop advertisement for twenty-five contract staff appointments in Surekhet. The demonstrators alleged that Vice-Chancellor of the University P.D. Nanda Bahadur Singh of trying to recruit his people without the government's approval. According to the memorandum the demonstrators demanded to immediately stop the advertisement of the part-time and contract teaching staff who have been working in the university for a long time without managing the subject and not deciding the nature of the contract. It was also mentioned in the press release that while all the works are being done in physical presence, those shortlisted were interviewed through Zoom.
