Police have reportedly assaulted vegetable vendors in Bhadrapur of Jhapa on Saturday in the name of enforcing lockdown. An all party meeting including Corona virus Infection Prevention, Treatment Coordination and Monitoring Committee Jhapa on Friday had decided to loosen the lockdown a bit and let shops open from 8:00am in the morning to 12 at noon. Vegetable vendors opened their shops according to the same decision on the footpath but police team led by inspector Dambar Puri of Ward Police Office Bhadrapur assaulted them and forced them to close their shops. Sushil Yadav, a vendor lamented that police even took their scales and took some vendors into custody.
