On July 14, hair-dressers staged a demonstration at Maitighar demanding payment of Rs 25,000 per month for the lockdown period as they have to close down their businesses. The Nepal Barber Trade Union staged the demonstration drawing the attention of the government to address its problems. Chairman of the trade union, Gajendra Thakur, said that salons and parlors should be allowed to open immediately, free PPE sets and life insurance worth Rs 5 million.
