Teachers under the Education Learning Support Grant padlocked the office of Education and Coordination Unit, Taulihawa, Kapilbastu, on Sunday, saying that the unit has not paid them for five months. The agitated teachers said they have not received their dues since the current fiscal year, and the government has shown no interest to pay for them.
After the padlock program, they also handed a memorandum to Coordination Unit Chief Thaneshwar Ghimire and Officer Arjun Kumar.
Chief of the Education and Coordination Unit Ghimire said there was a delay on the release of the salary due to non-passing of the procedure by the Council of Ministers. He said they have received news that the grant will release within the first week of December.
