Around 200 residential doctors of Bir Hospital assigned to treat coronavirus covid-19 infected staged a sit-in at the hospital premises demanding their unpaid risk allowances on January 28. They stopped all their services other than an emergency.
Dr Kedar Century, director of Bir Hospital, the hospital is unable to pay the risk allowances due to the lack of budget. Earlier, the hospital had given only one month's risk allowance to the health workers stating the same reason.
