Public transport workers and booking staff in Dang have stopped the long and short distance transport services indefinitely against the transport companies. They even obstructed the movement of public buses, taxis and autos. Their demands include the implementation of the contribution-based social security fund act, the guarantee of salary allowance, and the covid-19 vaccine.
Passengers are stranded in Dang since March 30 due to the strike. Keshav Bhandari, chairman of the Dang District Committee of the Nepal Independent Transport Workers' Organization, said that they would agitate if their demands are not met.
