Couple on Hunger Strike Taken to Mental Hospital

Lalitpur/June 13 The police have forcibly taken a couple on hunger strike, demanding action agaisnt the killer of son, to the government mental hospital in Lagankhel, Lalitpur. Nanda Prasad Adhikari, 56, and his wife Gangamaya, 55, of Phujel in Gorkha had been on strike in front of Bir Hospital for the past few days. Director of Mental Hospital Surendra Sherchan told INSEC that the doctors were already attending them. My uncle and aunt did not want to go as they were saying that there was no problem with their mental health but the police forced them into the van, Sushila Tiwari, the man’s niece said. Tiwari added that the police did not allow her to enter the premises of Hospital saying she was not wanted there. When asked, the Metropolitan Police expressed its ignorance but policeman Birendra Khanal, posted at Bir Hospital confirmed the police move saying had no idea why the elderly couple had been taken to the mental health. Ramesh Timalsina ललितपुर । ०७० जेठ ३० गते आफ्नो छोराको हत्यारालाई कानुनी कठघरामा उभ्याई आफूहरूलाई न्याय दिलाउन माग गर्दै वीर अस्पतालको मूलगेटमा अनसनमा बसेका दम्पत्तीलाई प्रहरीले जबरजस्ती पाटनको मानसिक अस्पताल पुर्‍याएको छ । जेठ ३० गते प्रहरीले भ्यानमा राखेर गोरखा फुजेलका ५६ वर्षीय नन्दप्रसाद अधिकारी र उनकी पत्नी ५५ वर्षीया गंगामायालाई मानसिक अस्पताल पुर्‍याई भर्ना गरेको हो । मानसिक अस्पतालका निर्देशक सुरेन्द्र शेरचनले अस्पतालमा भर्ना गरी स्वास्थ्य जाँच शुरु गरिसकेको बताए । 'आफ्नो मानसिक स्वास्थ्यमा कुनै असर नगरेको बरु सरकारकै मानसिक स्थिति बिग्रिएको भन्दै जान मान्नु भएको थिएन । प्रहरीले जबरजस्ती लग्यो ।'अधिकारीकी भाञ्जि सुशीला तिवारीले इन्सेक प्रतिनिधिलाई जानकारी दिइन् । उनले भनिन्, 'प्रहरीले तेरो काम छैन । यहाँ किन आएकी भन्दै हप्काउँदै हामीलाई अस्पताल भित्र पस्न दिएन ।' महानगरीय प्रहरी परिसरले उनीहरूलाई अस्पताल ल्याएको कुरामा अनभिज्ञता देखाए पनि वीर अस्पतालमा काम गर्दै आएका प्रहरी विरेन्द्र खनालले भने स्वीकार गरेका छन् । उनले भने, किन लगिएको हो हामीलाई थाहा छैन -' रमेशप्रसाद तिमल्सिना
