Conflict victims warned that Bringing the former officials to the Commission will not be accepted

The conflict victims warned that assigning the old officers for the two commissions on transitional justice will not be acceptable. The commission is on a temporary halt as discussion are still being carried on between the parties regarding its division according to the press release by an orgnization for the conflict victims Sajha Chautari. 

"There has been an intense discussion among the parties for division of the commission" Chautari Said. The fact that the commission had to be reorganized due to failure of the commission to give any concrete results for the past six years."

After the expiry of the previous committee, the government formed a recommendation committee in coordination with the former justice Om Prakash Mishra. The committee had called for application for the first time on March 3 giving the dead line of three days fro the date but was later extended to seven more days due to the volume of the application. 

Dr. Bishnu Pathak, a member of the commission of investigation of the disappeared person and Dr. Madhavi bhatta have filed an application for reconsideration of the commission.  

According to, Chautari, all the stakeholders have been demanding amendment of the Act as per the supreme court judgement as for the past 6 years. As the commission has remained vacant for the past 3-6 months, there has been a question about the accountability of the commission.
