Teachers working at Balkumari Secondary School, Narayangadh padlocked the school on December 17 after the school only paid half salary for six months (April-October). They padlocked the principal's room, accounting department and teacher's staff room protesting the decision made 15 days ago to reduce the salary allowance by 50 per cent and festival allowance by 25 per cent.
There was an announcement of salary increase and other service facilities for teachers and staff working from a private source that was issued by previous school management committee during the school’s golden jubilee which is not implemented by the new working committee and administration. Meanwhile, the principal of the school said that the full salary could not be paid due to the decrease in the number of students.
