Sankhuwasabha/July 9 A conflict victim Pemdeki Sherpa of Jaljala VDC-2 has been ostracized by the villagers on charge of being witch. She was ostracized on charge of bewitching those who consumed food at her house and making them ill. Uneducated and financially week Sherpa’s family were ostracized in various functions in the village. Local Pasang Sherpa of same VDC said that the villagers shunned her on witchcraft accusation. She has been restricted by the villagers to attend any function in the village, he said. She has been living with her son and daughter. The victim said that she was accused of being witch for no reason. No complaint has been filed by the victim yet. Her husband was killed by the then Maoist insurgents during the conflict. She said that she will soon seek legal help for justice. C
