Three arrested in relation to conflict-period killing

Police have arrested a teacher of 54-yer-old Jit Bahadur Pomu of Niguradin VDC-2, Ganga Bahadur Pomu, the former vice-chairperson of the same VDC and ward chairperson Dinesh Pomu on January 19 in a killing occurred during the conflict time. The three men are accused of killing 40-year-old Mohan Dangi of Hwaku VDC-8 on April 1, 2003. They are currently being kept at police custody in District Police Office. The three were abducted by the Maoists on May 3, 2003, and kept them at Maoist labour camp for five months in the pretext of investigating the death of Dangi. Later they were freed by the Maoists saying they were innocent. Police arrested them on the basis of the FIR filed by the son of the deceased soon after they were abducted by the Maoists.
