KATHMANDU, Jan 9: Satyagrahi Ganga Maya Adhikari on Wednesday met with UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC) Valerie Julliand at UN House Pulchowk as part of her campaign to internationalize her fight for justice.
She was accompanied by lawyers during her meeting with diplomat Julliand, which started at 3 pm. Adhikari urged Julliand to play her part in finding justice for her son saying that it is the responsibility of each member of mankind as well as international community to act for justice.
“I am no longer hopeful of getting justice for my son from the Nepal government. This is the state full of perpetrators who are always hell-bent on inflicting woes on the victims. I would like to request you to play a role on your part to internationalize my long-drawn-out fight for my son’s justice,” Advocate Om Prakash Aryal quoted Ganga Maya as saying during her meeting with Julliand.
In response, UNRC Julliand assured her of doing all she could for her son’s justice and also reminded her of her article in which she had urged all the stakeholders including the international community to address the issue of Ganga Maya.
She has already announced her wish to visit the United Kingdom where her son's murder-accused Rudra Prasad Acharya is hiding and also the UN Headquarters from where she could access to various members of international community.
Ganga Maya, who staged fast-unto-death four times between January 2013 and July 2018, has repeatedly told us either she would resume her full-fledged fast-onto-death or she would embark on the road-map to internationalize her fight for justice.
Ganga Maya’s 18-year-old son Krishna Prasad was killed by Maoists in Chitwan on June 6, 2004.
