Health condition of Nanda Prasad Adhikari and his wife Ganga Maya Adhikari, who have been staging hunger strike since October 24 demanding action against the murderers of their son, has deteriorated. Doctors in the Bir Hospital Kathmandu have the Adhikari couple on IV. They are not able to speak properly due to their health condition. The couple had also staged strikes in different places of Kathmandu last year. The government had arrested the then Maoist cadre Ram Prasad Adhikari of Gorkha in connection with their son's murder. They had called off their strike following a 3-point agreement on September 7 with the government. The couple said that they continued with their strike as the government's commitment was no implemented. Krishna Prasad Adhikari, son of the couple, was killed by Maoist cadres while he had gone to meet his grandparents in Chitwan on June 6, 2004.
