The National Disability Conflict Victims Network recently conducted a study on the impact of COVID-19 on conflict-affected people with disabilities. The study concluded that such people have not received any assistance from the local government, NGOs and their basic needs have been 'broken'.
The people affected by the ten-year conflict are still fighting for justice. Those who were subjected to violence, rape, disappearances and mutilation at that time have been ignored and deprived of justice. Efforts are being made to grant amnesty to the perpetrators. Taking advantage of the fluid politics and removing the accused from the legal process is a threat to peace. Conflict victims are demanding fair compensation. Corruption has increased widely in the country in the last decade.
