Kathmandu, Adhikari Dampati ko swasthya awastha prati jabab dehi nigrani samiti ko gambhir dhyan akarshan. Accountability Watch Committee (AWC) has issued a statement on July 31 raising concern over to deteriorating health condition of Nanda Prasad Adhikari and his wife Ganga Maya, of Phujel VDC-7. The Adhikaris are on hunger strike for the last 280 days demanding action against the killers of their younger son, Krishna Prasad Adhikari and have been admitted at Bir Hospital. The statement issued by AWC chairperson, Sushil Pyakurel, said that at a time when the doctors attending them are skeptical of their survival, the political parties should win over their trust to save their lives. The AWC statement recalled another statement issued on January 2, which had called the political parties and Nepal government to address the couple’s struggle for justice and save lives. “Becasuse of the continued government apathy towards the demand of the Adhikaris for seven months, it can be held responsible for the present status of the Adhikaris”, the statement warned. The statement has also asked for end of impunity, assurance of justice and rule of law by holding effective investigation of the crimes of against humanity and action against perpetrators. Bibe
