Conflict victims and the human rights activists staged a two-hour sit-in in Kathmandu on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Comprehensive peace agreement between the government and the Maoists demanding an impartial investigation of human rights violation and atrocities incidents. The demonstrators also demanded a timeline and action plan, a roadmap for transitional justice, amendments to the law in accordance with Supreme Court orders and international law, meaningful government consultation with victims and other stakeholders, and the formation of an independent, transparent, and public commission to investigate conflict-related issues.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Gyanendra Aran said that the government had distributed identity cards to the conflict-affected community but failed to address the identity of the real conflict victims.

Conflict victim Devi Sunar said that her daughter's body had been in the Teaching Hospital for 18 years and she further added that she will continue to fight for justice until the murderer is found.

Addressing the sit-in, Suman Adhikari, former chairperson of Sajha Chautari, said that the accused who publicly accept that they killed 5,000 people should be brought to justice by filing the case against them in an international court.
