Bring murderers of teenage girl to book, UN to Nepal Govt

 Human Rights Committee has urged the Government of Nepal to report it regarding delay in punishing the perpetrators involved in killing a teenage girl of Kavre during the conflict. Advocacy Forum organized a program in the capital to inform about the decision of the UN committee which monitors the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The UN committee urged government to carry out effective and complete investigation, prosecute and punish the culprit and provide full reparation. Subhadra Chaulagain, 17, of Pokharichaur VDC in Kavre was dragged out of her house in the night of February 13, 2004 and shot dead in front of her father on charge of being Maoist. Kedarnath, father of the girl said that he was compelled to file complaint at Geneva after his efforts to get justice in Nepal failed.
