Conflict victims complained about District Administration Office not accepting their relief application

The conflict victims complained that their applications for relief were not addressed by the District Administration Office, Local Peace Committee (LPC), and Ministry of Peace. The families of 526 conflict dead and 27 disappeared people have received the relief, deputy CDO Mim Bahadur Shahi said adding another 380 injured and maimed victims, 377 abducted people, 252 displaced and 339 people whose properties were damaged have so far received relief.


LPC coordinator Dhruba Bikram Shahi said that though they had sent 5,031 applications of damage to property to the District Administration Office (DAO) to prepare  police reports, nothing had been heard of them. "LPC and DAO have received hundreds of applications which are yet to be considered," Shahi said. He informed that applications of 21 people killed, 17 disappeared, 12,028 injured, 1,585 abducted and 131 displaced people were yet to be investigated.

Many of the applicants remained unattended while some have been lost. Some applicants are waiting for the last five years. One such victim is Nain Bahadur Shahi of Manma VDC-5 who got injured in an explosion of the IED placed by the Maoists in 2000 is waiting for relief. A total of 134 applications of maimed victims, 133 of abducted, and 169 of property damage remain shelved because of non-formation of the task force.


Similarly, families of 28 dead and 232 victims whose property was damaged are enlisted by earlier task force but yet to receive the relief. Kal Many of the applicants remained unattended while some have been lost. Some applicants are waiting for the last five years
