Ganga Maya Adhikari, 54, of Phujel VDC-7 in Gorkha, has said that she has not given up her struggle for justice. Speaking to a team of human rights activists who had reached Bir Hospital to inquired about her health marking the International Women's Day on March 8, Ganga Maya expressed readiness to accept death for justice like her husband. INSEC Chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel, who also met with Ganga Maya, said that she would continue her struggle until justice is delivered. She has been continuing her protest by taking only liquid diet demanding justice for her son killed by CPN-M cadres. Quoting Ganga Maya, Pyakurel said that she urged the rights activists to take steps for her justice. Meanwhile, INSEC Chairperson Pyakurel has criticized the lackadaisical attitude of the government in bringing the culprit to justice. Saying that it is a serious issue that cremation of Nanda Prasad Adhikari, who died during his struggle for justice, had not been performed, Pyakurel urged the government to take steps to perform his final rites. He demanded the government to address the demands of Ganga Maya at once. "The government cannot trade justice with relief for the victim," he said. Ganga Maya and her husband Nanda Prasad had been holding phase-wise agitations demanding action against the murderers of their son Krishna Prasad Adhikari. Nanda Prasad died while staging a fast-unto-death at Bir Hospital on September 22, 2006.
